OUR STORY

Malcolm has a comprehensive mechanical background, 35 years in large industrial construction, maintenance, fixed asset integrity management, and has significant project management experience, primarily in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. He has provided static equipment subject matter expertise internationally in Chile, Trinidad and Egypt.

Malcolm is a born and bred Taranaki boy who has lived in New Plymouth for the last 36 years. He is married and a family man who has four adult children, and 5 grandchildren.

Malcolm enjoys swimming in the sea, a part time golfer, loves watching and attending the V8 Super Cars circuit both in New Zealand and Australia, he is also a big fan of All Black Rugby and so of course went to the Rugby World Cup final held at Eden Park in Auckland in 2011 for a nail biting hour of entertainment.

In his spare time, he either runs, walks or cycles to keep fit and is a retired certified gym instructor.

He is a certified corrosion technologist, welding inspector, boiler and pressure equipment inspector, and is Prince2 TM Project Manager. His range of competencies include risk Based Inspection, corrosion and damage mechanism identification and control, in depth Regulatory proficiency, equipment breakdown first response and repair advisor. He has strong leadership skills and has effective communication of complex issues to multi discipline teams.

Add to this, his role as Chairman of the Certification Board for Inspection Personnel, it is obvious he has many strings to his bow.

Is a confident communicator who easily interacts with other technical groups (process engineering, maintenance, engineering and capital project groups), corporate technical networks and peers, and vendors/suppliers as needed to resolve problems and improve equipment integrity, reliability and performance.
